FIA arrests two human smugglers

LAHORE : Two suspects including the proclaimed offenders involved in the heinous crime of human trafficking arrested on Friday.

On the direction of Director FIA Lahore Zone Sarfraz Virk, a crackdown on human smugglers continued.

The arrested accused collected lakhs of rupees in the name of employment abroad. The accused are Sanam Zeb and Hanook Masih who were arrested from different areas of Lahore and Okara.

Accused Sanam Zeb received more than 39 lakh rupees by deceiving the citizen to get a job in UK. A case was registered against the accused in the year 2022 in Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore.

While the accused Hanook Masih used to receive huge sums of money from simple citizens under the guise of employment abroad. The accused received Rs7 lakh for sending the citizen abroad. Further investigation is underway and raids are being conducted to arrest other accused involved in this heinous crime.

Case registered for torturing wardens

A case was registered for the fight between the traffic wardens and the employees of Town Hall in Istanbul Chowk.

CTO Lahore ordered immediate action against the accused. It was filed under other provisions, including threats, in which it is stated that the traffic wardens stopped the unidentified motorcyclist from removing the barrier when he became enraged and started kicking the barrier.

After which the motorcyclist called at least 15 Town Hall employees who severely tortured the wardens. The accused took them to the Town Hall and tortured them and kept Traffic Warden Saleem in custody. The accused escaped leaving the warden in a state of semi-unconsciousness.

Youth’s body found

The body of a 15-year-old youth was found in Chung area on Friday.

The victim was brutally tortured and killed. The police shifted the body for post-mortem and started the investigation.

Seeing the blood-soaked body of boy from an empty plot near the road, the local residents informed the police, after which the police collected the evidence from the scene and transferred the body for post-mortem and started investigation.

Meanwhile, the bodies of two unknown persons were recovered from different places of the provincial capital on Friday.

The police shifted the bodies to the mortuary and started searching for the heirs. Police claimed the victims died due to cold.

A 60 years old man was recovered dead in Faisal Town while a 35-year-old man was recovered from near Khokhar Chowk area of Nawab Town, who reportedly died due to drug overdose.
