LAHORE: Fashion designer and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Khadija Shah was released on bail on Thursday.
She spent months in imprisonment over her alleged involvement in May 9 incidents. She is the daughter of former federal and Punjab cabinet member Salman Shah and has been widely praised in the PTI circles and on social media for not quitting the party unlike others who either announced joining the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party or bade farewell to politics.
The case against her pertained to accusations of protest and vandalism at the Jinnah House on May 9, following a court decision against Imran Khan.
Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas, the PTI leader from Sialkot, has also been granted protective bail. He is likely to contest the poll from Sialkot again.
