PESHAWAR: Two policemen were wounded in yet another attack on a police post in Dera Ismail Khan late Wednesday night.
Officials said the alert cops bravely fought back and repulsed the attack. Reports said the attackers opened fire with sniper guns and automatic rifles on a post in Maddi area.
Police and security personnel retaliated and the firing continued for some time. Reports said two policemen sustained injuries in the attack who were taken to hospital.
Dera Ismail Khan has witnessed the highest number of attacks on police during the current year. Over 50 attacks on police buildings and cops have been reported in DIK during the period.
Due to breakdown, power was cut off in Mall Road, Jhikagali, Bhurban, Expressway and other areas
