Islamabad: Caretaker Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Madad Ali Sindhi, emphasised the universal nature of Iqbal's poetry, philosophy, and thought during the opening session of a two-day international conference at Allama Iqbal Open University.
Experts from Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, and Turkey gathered to explore "Iqbal's Thought in the Perspective of 21st Century and Two Great Poets of Islam: Iqbal and Akif."
Sindhi praised Iqbal's enduring message, stating it remains as relevant today as ever. The conference aimed to elucidate Iqbal's thoughts and poetry for the benefit of the global youth, fostering intellectual exchange and recognising the impact of poets like Muhammad Akif.
Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Pacici and Dr. Halil Tokar highlighted Iqbal's profound influence on Turkey, announcing collaborative efforts to promote Akif's poetry and thoughts in Pakistan. Various speakers addressed the contemporary challenges faced by the youth, emphasising Iqbal's potential to guide them through academic, intellectual, cultural, and moral crises. The event received accolades for its international scope and commitment to preserving and disseminating Iqbal's legacy.
