PPP to seek guidance from Benazir’s ideas: Murtaza
LAHORE:PPP Central Punjab General Secretary Syed Hasan Murtaza, in his message on the 16th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, said that she was a charismatic leader who wanted to see Pakistan as modern, developed and prosperous country.
He said that PPP would continue to seek guidance from Benazir’s ideas. Every worker and Jiyala of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is determined to fulfill Benazir's mission, stated Murtaza. Bilawal Bhutto is commencing the election campaign from Garhi Khuda Baksh on the death anniversary of Shaheed Bibi, he informed.
In a statement issued here Tuesday, Murtaza said People's Party is ready to give surprises in all provinces. Bilawal is a leader of the young generation and the people will demonstrate full confidence in Benazir's party by exercising their voting power in the elections.
PPP is the only party that has adhered to its manifesto. Once in government, it will uphold the virtues of Shaheed Bibi, he added. PPP Central Punjab Secretary Records and Events Ahsan Rizvi in his message on the death anniversary of Shaheed Bibi said she was a symbol of democracy and a strong pillar of the federation.
Benazir, who served as Prime Minister of the country between 1988-1990 and 1993 to 1996, defended the rights of backward classes and minorities and pioneered women's development and independence, Rizvi said.
He said Benazir was a personality of epoch-making significance, the kind that emerges once in centuries. PPP is advancing in the democratic struggle guided by the thoughts and philosophy of Shaheed Bibi, he continued. Rizvi remarked that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto's decision to contest elections from NA-127 is welcome and will have far-reaching effects. Punjab was and will remain the stronghold of the People's Party and Bilawal’s success in Lahore will affirm it, Rizvi added.
He said like other parts of the country, PPP Punjab and Lahore chapter would also hold different events in connection with the 16th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, who was martyred in a gun and bomb attack on Dec 27, 2007 in Liaqat Bagh, Rawalpindi.
