PESHAWAR: For the first time ever, a young woman from minorities has filed nomination papers for a general seat from Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the coming general elections.
Dr Saveera Parkash, is flexing muscles for a seat in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly. She is hopeful for a ticket of the Pakistan People’s Party for PK-25, Buner.
Dr Saveera is the daughter of philanthropist Dr Om Parkash from Daggar. Her father was associated with the PPP for the last over three decades. A number of people on social media has welcomed the decision of a female from Hindu minorities contesting polls for a general seat in the KP Assembly.
Many termed her a brave young woman who has been taking up issues of women rights and human rights for the last few years. Dr Saveera has completed her MBBS studies last year from Abbotabad. Apart from PK-25, she is also a contender for the reserved seats.
