The ECP has disallowed the PTI to use its iconic electoral symbol – bat. Another political party ‘Hum Awam Pakistan Party’ has requested the ECP to allot the symbol to them. The question is: why has it become mandatory to reallocate electoral symbols to every party at the time of general elections?
Electoral symbols should be allocated at the time of registration and should always be treated as an integral part of the party. If the PTI cannot use the bat symbol, no other political party should be allowed to use it.
