Two militants arrested in Charsadda
CHARSADDA: The police and security forces arrested two suspected militants in the Tangi tehsil in the Charsadda district, an official said on Wednesday.
District Police Officer Sohail Khalid Khan told reporters that the security forces and police arrested the two militants during a search operation in Tangi. He said that one of the militants was an Afghan national while the other hailed from Bajaur Agency.
The official said that the police launched a search operation in the district after the suicide attack on the lowers courts in Shabqadar.He said 68 other suspects were arrested in the search, adding that the operation would continue till elimination of the terrorist network.
“The search and strike operation was launched in Khwajawas, Pir Qala, Maluk Koroona, Masho Kor, Sumanat, Shaheed Banda, Battagram and other villages on the Sardaryab Road,” he said.He said the arrested persons included 29 Afghan nationals who were being interrogated while 22 others were detained for violating the tenancy laws.
