LAHORE:Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) has provided a free double-decker bus service on the occasion of Christmas. The bus left Cathedral Church, opposite Lahore High Court and reached Governor’s House via Mall Road.
Archbishop Lahore Sebastian Francis Shaw, Reverend Dr Majeed Abel, MD Tourism Humaira Akram, TDCP Director Ashfaq Dogar, lawyer community, representatives of civil society and Christian community travelled on the bus.
The bus was decorated in elaborate style and various songs were sung by the Christian community. The TDCP MD said that the main purpose of the free bus service was to share the joy of the Christian community and to give a Christmas gift on behalf of the department. Former provincial minister Ijaz Alam Augustine appreciated the initiative.
Archbishop Lahore Sebastian Francis Shaw said that in the month of December, Christmas cakes were cut in public and private institutions as an expression of solidarity with the Christian community, and it was definitely a worthy event for the Christian community and other communities to participate in their joy.
