Naqvi orders completing hospitals’ upgrade by Jan 31

LAHORE:Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday visited five hospitals, including Services, PIC, Mayo, Lady Willingdon and Punjab Dental Hospital and reviewed ongoing construction and upgradation work.

The chief minister ordered completing upgradation project of Services Hospital by 31st January. He directed to deploy 500 workers in each of the three shifts. He monitored ongoing construction activities. After visiting Services Hospital, he reached Punjab Institute of Cardiology. He inspected ongoing work on the emergency and other floors.

He ordered opening ground floor of the PIC emergency block by 31st December and assigned a deadline to complete upgradation work of the hospital by 15th January. He ordered to hand over third floor to the C&W department 100 percent Monday (today) and directed to establish a lab collection centre at the main gate.

In Mayo Hospital, Mohsin Naqvi ordered opening the emergency block by 7th January and directed to complete the remaining work soon. He also visited Children Block and monitored upgradation work. He directed to improve condition of the lawn of Mayo Hospital forthwith and issued directions to PHA in this regard.

Later, the CM reached Lady Willingdon Hospital and reviewed construction and restoration activities of the hospital. He monitored ongoing construction work. Colonel Jamal of FWO gave a briefing about the project. The CM ordered demolishing old building as soon as possible.

The CM reviewed ongoing construction activities of Punjab Dental Hospital and directed to complete upgradation work of Punjab Dental Hospital by 15th January. Mohsin Naqvi, while talking with the media at the Lady Willingdon Hospital, stated that upgradation work of the PIC emergency would be completed by 31st December.

The third floor of PIC will be completed by 15th January and work on other floors is ongoing. The CM revealed that the biggest emergency of Punjab comprising 230 beds was being constructed at Mayo Hospital on which work is ongoing day and night. We would complete Mayo Hospital emergency by 7th January and Children’s Hospital emergency by 15th January. We are handing over a park attached with the Children’s Hospital to PHA. He informed that the Dental Hospital Jubilee Town project was launched in 2007 and 2023 is going to an end and this project was kept delayed for 16 years. We are going to inaugurate Dental Hospital Jubilee Town on 15th January. FWO is providing assistance in Rawalpindi Ring Road, Lady Willingdon Hospital and all other mega projects.

The main motive is to undertake upgradation work of the hospitals which were waiting for their upgradation for 40 years. The CM apprised that no leniency would be meted out to anyone in launching a crackdown against encroachments. No injustice will be done to anyone. It is not possible to ride a vehicle without bearing its licence and grab a government land, he said, adding after few days, Lahore would be cleared of all encroachments.

Meanwhile, chairing a meeting at the CM’s office, the chief minister assigned responsibilities to the ministers and officers to monitor the ongoing development projects.

Provincial Minister Amir Mir General Hospital, Ibrahim Hassan Murad Mayo Hospital, Wahab Riaz Dental Hospital, D Javed Akram Children’s Hospital, Secretary Tourism Ganga Ram Hospital and Commissioner Lahore will oversee PIC projects. Provincial Minister Doctor Jamal Nasir will undertake monitoring of Rawalpindi projects. Provincial Minister Bilal Afzal has been assigned the responsibility to undertake monitoring of Lahore Ring Road SL3 and Gujranwala Express Way projects.

CM grieved over death of nine of a family

The chief minister expressed his deep grief over the death of nine persons of the same family due to fire eruption in Abbottabad. He expressed his heartfelt sympathy with the heirs of the deceased persons.

Orders foolproof security measures on Christmas

The chief minister ordered foolproof security arrangements on the eve of Christmas Day across the province and issued directions to IG Police Dr Usman Anwar, ACS and Additional IG Special Branch in this regard.

He directed to pay special attention on the security of churches along with deploying additional police force. The chief minister congratulated the Christian community on the auspicious occasion of Christmas Day.

Message on birth anniversary Of Quaid-i-Azam

The chief minister paid rich tributes to the sagacious politician and great leader of the Muslim world Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the eve of his birth anniversary.

In his message, the CM stated that the establishment of a welfare society based on tolerance, patience and brotherhood was a dream of the founder of Pakistan. Quaid-e-Azam wanted such a society where every citizen should be provided equal rights and equal advancement opportunities.
