Unidentified suspects opened fire on an ice cream parlour in the Gurumandir area on Sunday, killing its 25-year-old owner Ijaz Mian and injuring a worker, Adeel Shah, 18.
According to police, the incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday within the remits of the Soldier Bazaar police station. The preliminary investigation suggested that the incident was an outcome of a personal enmity.
Police said that eight to ten armed men on motorcycles and in a car were involved in the incident. They fired around 25 rounds from 9mm pistols. Investigators were collecting CCTV footage to trace the suspects.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers targeted Ijaz who was the owner of Bilal Ice Cream Bakery. The deceased was a resident of Orangi Town and hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police said that the deceased had a property dispute with his relatives. His employee Adeel also sustained injuries in the incident. A case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
