Sindh caretaker minister for home and prisons, Brigadier (retired) Haris Nawaz, on Saturday issued directions to police and other law enforcement agencies to ensure stringent security arrangements for the celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Christmas on December 25.
The minister directed the police to stay fully vigilant to thwart any nefarious attempt by miscreant elements. He added that foolproof security should be ensured around the Mazar-e-Quaid, churches and other worship places, shopping areas, markets, hotels, restaurants, parks and other recreational locations in all districts of the province by utilising all available resources.
“All district SSPs should personally visit these places and brief the deputed personnel about the necessary security measures need to be put in place. The SSPs should also make an audit of on-duty security personnel, especially around the churches and Christian populated areas”, Nawaz stated.
He said that inter-district and inter-provincial check posts should be set up to ensure checking and monitoring procedures. He maintained, “Leave no stone unturned for implementation of the special security plan”.
