Khattak says people to bury ‘bat’ on Feb 8
NOWSHERA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTIP) leader Pervez Khattak on Friday said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would bury the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) election symbol “bat” on February 8.
Addressing gatherings at various parts of Nowshera district, he said that May 9 was the darkest day in the history of Pakistan when the military installations were attacked by the PTI workers.
“Imran Khan wanted to ignite a civil war in the country by provoking the people against the army,” he alleged. The former defense minister said the PTI leadership had deceived the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the name of so-called change and slogan of accountability. He alleged that the Imran Khan government was also involved in corruption and broke the previous records. “Imran Khan was the head of the thieves, who looted the wealth of this country,” Pervez Khattak alleged, who served as KP’s chief minister from 2013 to 2018.
He alleged that Imran Khan had become a security risk for the country. “Imran Khan was a pawn in a foreign conspiracy. Somebody else was pulling his strings,” he said, adding the former prime minister had lost his “mental equilibrium” after being ousted from power.
Defending his decision of quitting the PTI, Pervez Khattak said he was a shrewd politician, who knew to make the right decision at the right time. He dismissed the possibility of alliance with Maulana Fazlur Rahman-led Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, saying his party could consider seat adjustment with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party, Awami National Party and other religio-political parties.
