District EC releases data of Rawalpindi constituencies

Rawalpindi:The District Election Commission (DEC) Rawalpindi has released the data of registered voters of men and women for 7 seats of National Assembly and 14 seats of Provincial Assembly in Rawalpindi district including Murree for the general elections to be held on February 8.

The number of registered male and female voters has reached 3,602,198, including 1,857,912 male and 1,744,336 female voters. For the February 8 elections, 2,671 polling stations have been established across the district.

In which 989 polling stations will be for men and 964 polling stations for women, while 718 polling stations have been made jointly for men and women. Similarly, a total of 6,936 polling booths have been established across the district, of which 3,463 are for men and 3,473 are for women. 2,671 Presiding Officers, 13,872 Assistant Presiding Officers and 6,936 Polling Officers will be appointed throughout the district to monitor the polling process while 1 deputy messenger will also be provided at each polling station in 7 seats of the National Assembly.

According to the separate number of voters, in NA-51 (Rawalpindi / Murree) Constituency NA 51 (Rawalpindi / Murree) consisting of Tehsil Kahota and Tehsil Kallar Syedan apart from Murree district, there are 351,287 male and 381,236 female voters. 29,949 female voters are included in Tehsil Kahuta, Municipal Committee Kahuta, Tehsil Gujar Khan and Municipal Committee Gujar Khan. The total number of registered votes in National Assembly Constituency NA52 (Rawalpindi) is 666,216. 743 male and 3 lakh 24 thousand 473 female voters are included in National Assembly Constituency NA53 (Rawalpindi) consisting of legislative constituencies of Tehsil Rawalpindi in a total of 4 lakh 1 thousand 376 registered voters, 2 lakh 7 thousand 590 male while 1 lakh 93 thousand 786 female voters are included. Similarly, in National Assembly Constituency NA 54 (Rawalpindi) consisting of Tehsil Taxila, out of 4 lakh 66 thousand 344 registered voters, 2 lakh 41 thousand 350 male and 2 lakh 24 thousand 994 female voters are included in Rawalpindi. In Constituency NA 55 (Rawalpindi iv) consisting of Cantt, the total number of votes is 4 lakh 31 thousand 832, including 2 lakh 21 thousand 49 male and 2 lakh 10 thousand 783 female voters. Constituency NA-56 (Rawalpindi) includes 2,72,459 males and 2,51,274 females out of the total 5,23,683 registered votes, while National Assembly Constituency NA-57 consisting of Metropolitan Corporation Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonment Board in Rawalpindi city. The total number of registered votes in Rawalpindi is 4 lakh 31 thousand 511, which includes 2 lakh 22 thousand 434 males and 2 lakh 9 thousand 77 females.

District Election Commission (DEC) Shaheen Gazal said that according to the instructions, all the arrangements for the general elections to be held on February 8 in Rawalpindi district like the rest of the country are complete and she was trying to make Rawalpindi the number 1 district of Pakistan in terms of transparent and peaceful elections. Including transparent, fair and impartial elections across the country is the first priority of the Election Commission, it is possible only then that all political parties and election candidates keep the election code of conduct in mind, he said that all political parties and election candidates have this responsibility. From the election campaign to the polling process and announcement of the results, they should cooperate with the Election Commission, election staff and security agencies to establish peace and order and conduct transparent elections. It will happen when all stakeholders fulfil their responsibilities effectively.
