Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Friday filed his nomination papers for the 2024 general elections for the National Assembly constituencies NA-246 in District West and NA-250 in District Central.
The JI leader also filed his nomination papers for the provincial assembly constituency PS-129 in District Central. He was accompanied by other JI leaders and hundreds of supporters on the occasion.
Following the submission of his papers, Rehman talked to the media. He said the JI’s candidates would contest the elections in all the constituencies on the party’s symbol and flag. He also said that in the backdrop of what the other mainstream parties have done to the city, the JI has become the only choice for the residents.
As a matter of fact, he added, any vote in the favour of any political party other than the JI would serve and strength feudalism. He pointed out that the rule of the JI in the assemblies is crucial for the progress and development of the city and its residents. Rehman said that despite all the tall claims, the mega city lacks all the basic necessities, including peace and the rule of law.
He also censured the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for supporting the Pakistan People Party (PPP) in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s City Council at a time when the PML-N leadership was condemning the PPP everywhere.
