Workshop held on ‘Responsible Digital Citizenship’
MINGORA: The Department of Media and Communication Studies University of Swat, in partnership with the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, recently conducted a one-day workshop on “Responsible Digital Citizenship.”
The workshop was aimed to provide students with insights into the dynamic world of digital citizenship.Amber Rahim Shamsi, Director of the Center for Excellence in Journalism at IBA Karachi, served as the resource person for the workshop. Shamsi shared her expertise on responsible digital practices, highlighting the significance of ethical engagement in the online sphere.
Students from the Department of Media and Communication Studies participated in discussions and activities during the workshop to enhance their understanding of responsible digital behaviour.
UoS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Sher, who attended the concluding session, discussed the role of digital citizenship and addressing contemporary challenges, such as the spread of fake news, misinformation, and disinformation in today’s era.The organisers, Dr Jamal Ud Din and Sadia, were lauded for their efforts in arranging the event.
