LAHORE:Master trainer Tariq Sidhu delivered insightful lectures on childhood growth, development, talent identification and types of energy system on the 3rd day of Track and Field Course being organised under Institute of Sports Sciences Punjab (ISSP) at Punjab Stadium on Wednesday.
The 2nd phase 5-day Track and Field Course is being organised to impart modern training to divisional and provincial coaches of the province. Principal ISSP Chand Parveen, Chief Instructor Hafeez Bhatti and Instructor Shaista Qaiser were also present on this occasion.
Sidhu elaborated his lecture with the help of diagrams and slides in the training course being attended by 20 provincial and divisional coaches including three females. In his lecture, Sidhu threw light on all stages of a child from birth to playing age and told the coaches about the age-wise food and other requirements of a kid. While elaborating the talent identification, he taught the coaches about the abilities of a coach. He said that a coach must have a visionary approach and he should be able to identify the level of talent and the deficiencies in an athlete at an early stage. Sidhu also discussed types of energy systems in the second session and told the coaches about how energy is produced by our muscles. He said that there are three types of energy systems – aerobic, alactic anaerobic and lactic anaerobic. He also explained the functions of these energy systems with the help of diagrams and slides.
