Robber in police custody killed in encounter
LAHORE:A suspected robber in police custody was allegedly killed in an encounter with Organised Crime Unit Model Town (OCU) in Nishtar Colony.
The suspect identified as Ghulam Mustafa was involved in over 150 robbery and murder cases. Police had arrested him and were taking him to a hideout for identification purpose. As police team reached Nishtar Colony, reportedly, his accomplices attacked the police party. In exchange of fire, the suspect received bullet injuries and died. His body was moved to morgue. He had murdered a citizen during robbery bid in Nishtar Colony.
Man hit to death
A 40-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding train in the Gulberg area. The victim identified as Nasir Mehmood was reportedly trying to cross the railway crossing when a speeding train hit him. The victim received injuries. These proved so fatal that it claimed his life.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man died in an accident with grass cutting machine in Shahdara. The victim Alam Zaib was at work in Faisal Park. The victim received an injury due to grass cutting machine and died.
Commits suicide
A man committed suicide by hanging himself in the Sanda area. The victim Saif Ali, a resident of Dhoop Sari, reportedly was frustrated due to personal issues. On the day of the incident, he locked himself in a room and hanged himself to death with a fan. His body was moved to morgue.
