ISLAMABAD: PTI spokesman Shoaib Shaheen has sought the Election Commission of Pakistan’s permission to meet party leader Imran Khan in jail.
In his application, he said, “Our founding chairman Imran Khan is in jail. We want to consult with him for party tickets. Our party chairman and senior lawyers will meet him.”
The commission member asked how the request was relevant to the them. Shoaib Shaheen said that it was ECP’s responsibility to conduct free fair elections. The chief election commissioner said, “Give us a day and we will take a proper decision.”
