PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry and other officials visited Central Jail here on Tuesday.
Inspector General of Prison KP, Usman Mehsud, Additional Inspector General of Prison Hamidur Rahman, and Superintendent Jail Waseem Khan warmly welcomed both the chief secretary and Additional Chief Secretary Home Abid Majeed upon their arrival.
During their visit, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Additional Chief Secretary Home checked various sections of the jail, interacted with prisoners and inquired about the facilities provided by the jail administration.
On this occasion, the IG prison presented a comprehensive overview of jail security management and the facilities offered to prisoners. It was highlighted that the prison department provides skills and training to enable the prisoners to earn a livelihood and support their families after release. Discussing the video link facility, the IG prison briefed that prisoners can participate in court hearings through video link.
