The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pakistan Sunni Tehreek (PST) have agreed to form an electoral alliance before the upcoming general elections.
In this regard, MQM-P leaders Syed Aminul Haque, Hasan Sabir and Javid Hanif on Tuesday met at the Pakistan House PST Vice President Hafiz Mehboob Ali Qadri, Coordinator Secretary Tayyab Qadri and Sindh President Imran Soharwardi.
They exchanged views on the current political situation in the country, including the politics of Karachi, and agreed to work together for the city’s development. After the meeting, Haque said the MQM-P had prepared constitutional reforms to save and run Pakistan, under which the local governments would directly receive their due share through federalism.
The MQM-P wanted to bring a system for the youth that allowed them to progress, he said. Earlier on Sunday, PST Ejaz Qadri group chief Sarwat Ejaz Qadri had in a statement said that the PST wanted to make alliances with like-minded religious, political and patriotic parties for the sake of the country. Only the unity of political parties could lead the country towards development and the people could have their problems resolved through political struggle, he added.
