LAHORE: Experts on Monday emphasised the urgent need for international cooperation to address the persistent challenges faced by Pakistan, particularly the high unemployment rate and lack of education and skills among the youth.

Addressing a press conference here at Lahore Press Club, Sidra Khan, Idris Yasir, and Marghoub Zia, the representatives of an NGO Partnership for Development, highlighted the gravity of the situation, pointing out that the recent census indicates a current population of 240.2 million in Pakistan.

Of this population, 64 percent falls within the working-age category, presenting a significant challenge as a portion of this demographic is either unemployed or actively seeking employment. In response to this crisis, Sidra Khan announced collaborative efforts with the European Union to implement the Power To Youth programme.

The programme focuses on providing technical and vocational training to the youth in the districts of Rawalpindi and Lahore.
