LAHORE:Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Town Planning Wing and TEPA teams, on the directions of Commissioner Lahore/LDA Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa, conducted a joint operation in the vicinities of Abdul Haq Road, Johar Town, Main Boulevard and Khayaban-e-Firdousi and removed encroachments after sealing several commercial properties for violation of the parking rules.
During the operation, the joint teams sealed several commercial properties, including restaurant, a private bank, chicken shop, studio, generators shop, plaza, private bakery, sweatshop, academy and medical lab and encroachments were removed from a tikka shop, pharmacy and restaurant etc. Prior to the operation, several notices for corrective measures were issued to these properties. Director parking and enforcement TEPA, director private housing scheme, deputy director PHS, deputy director town planning, enforcement wing and officers of TEPA participated in the operation.
Police and heavy machinery also participated in the operation. Moreover, on the directions of Commissioner Lahore, LDA teams sealed 16 commercial properties for illegal commercialisation on Khayaban-e-Firdousi Road and Johar Town. These properties included well-known food points, cafes, bakeries, tea houses and restaurants in A Block Revenue Employees, F1 Block and adjoining areas.
The operation was conducted by Director Town Planning IV under the supervision of Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali while Lahore Development Authority and the district administration teams participated in the operation.
Workshop on Promoting leadership
A four-day workshop on ‘Promoting Leadership for Women Through Sports’ began at the main campus of the University of Education (UoE) on Monday.
With the support of the US Consulate, Lahore, under the Idea-Sport Project the workshop was held in collaboration with the UoE and Baylor University, Texas (USA). During the workshop principals and other staff of 10 schools will get training in badminton, basketball and volleyball.
In this regard, an inaugural ceremony was held that was presided over by UoE Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Alam Saeed. Public Affairs Officer US Consulate Lahore Monica Brinn was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Dean Baylor University, Texas (USA) William Sterrett, Program Officer US Consulate, Lahore Summaya Tariq, Director of Sports Prof Dr Muhammad Umar Saleem and all academic directors of the university and a large number of students attended the event.
