LAHORE: Descon Engineering (DEL), the country's leading engineering and construction company, has successfully completed a plant relocation project for AkzoNobel on a turnkey basis.
The project involved relocating AkzoNobel's paint manufacturing plant from Lahore to Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC), a statement said on Monday.
The official handover ceremony was held at the project site, where DEL's Project Management Team (PMT) handed over the plant to AkzoNobel's Operation team.
The project, which commenced on Jan. 24, 2022 and completed in the first week of December 2023, achieved an impressive safety record of 2.1 million safe manhours, demonstrating the high standards of quality and safety followed by both DEL and AkzoNobel, the statement added.
"This project exemplifies our commitment to excellence and the successful collaboration between DEL and AkzoNobel teams. I am proud of what we have achieved together. This accomplishment also reflects the dedication and vigilance of the team in adhering to the highest standards of safety protocols," said Taimur Saeed, Chief Executive Officer of Descon Engineering.
