‘Providing training to foreign doctors an honour for LGH’
LAHORE : Three female doctors from Azerbaijan (Baku) visited the office of Principal PGMI/Ameer Uddin Medical College Prof Al-Fareed Zafar on Saturday and held a detailed discussion with him on their ongoing training and other medical education.
The female doctors who visited Pakistan to participate in the International Ophthalmology Conference are getting observership training under the supervision of Prof Hussain Ahmed Khaqan in Eye Unit 2 of Lahore General Hospital.
On this occasion, Prof Al-Fareed Zafar welcomed the doctors from Azerbaijan in his office and said that providing training to foreign doctors is not less than a great honour to LGH.
He added that there is no doubt during this training session, PGMI doctors will also be able to get an opportunity to learn about the education and research of foreign doctors and professional contacts which will be established between the medical experts of the two countries and it will also play an important role in the further development of the medical field.
Prof of Ophthalmology LGH Dr Hussain Ahmad Khaqan said that Dr Ayan Kahanova, Dr Ayan Galbinur and Dr Pakeiza Pairomova from Azerbaijan also participated in the Ophthalmology International Conference organised in the provincial capital.
In the international conference, ophthalmologists from different countries had the opportunity to exchange and benefit from each other's experiences. He added that in the light of such activity these women doctors received one-week training under observer ship at LGH. He said that their visit to the hospital provided opportunity to observe the working in the unit and learn more from the doctors whereas this training will be completed by Dec 18.
The foreign doctors appreciated the professional dedication, competence and interest of the doctors of LGH, PGMI and AMC from the Principal Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar and appreciated the fact that the modern tools are being used in the field of ophthalmology and latest facilities and modern technology have been provided by the health professionals working here. On this occasion, Principal Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar presented gifts to foreign doctors.
