ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has expressed serious concerns on trial of civilians in the military courts.
In a statement issued here Haroon-ur-Rashid, Vice-Chairman Pakistan Bar Council reiterated stance of the Pakistan Bar Council that trial of civilians should not be made in military courts and said that it is consistent view of the Bar Councils and Bar Associations that ordinarily, no civilians should be persecuted or tried under the provisions of Army Act.
He urged that every under-trial individual shall be afforded the opportunity of due process of law and fair trial as enshrined in Articles 4 and 10A of the Constitution.
