LAHORE:Two suspected robbers were killed in a police encounter in the Shad Bagh area. Reportedly, four suspected robbers were busy in a robbery bid with citizens near Nadeem Sarwar Ghatti, Ring Road. Suddenly, a police team reached the spot on information. An exchange of firing started ensuing between police and robbers. In exchange of firing, two suspected robbers were killed and two fled the scene. The deceased suspects were identified as Zeeshan and Abid.
Meanwhile, Haloki Post Police arrested three members of an inter-district gang for barging into the houses disguised as government employees. They were identified as Adeel, Waqas and Ahmad. Police also recovered four laptops, two mobile phones, stolen vehicles, illegal weapons and other valuables from their custody. The suspects would also install fake government number plates on their vehicles.
Moreover, Organised Crime Unit (OCU) Cantonment arrested three members of a robbers gang. They were identified as Atif alias Asif, Zain alias Jabri and Amir Ali. Police also recovered cash, mobile phones and illegal weapons from their custody.
Imposter arrested
New Anarkali Police have arrested a fake journalist and food inspector. The suspect would harass private hotel owners and mint money. He would enter the premises, introduce himself as a food inspector and journalist. A journalist card was recovered from his custody. The arrested suspect was identified as Nazim.
14 die in road accidents
Around 14 people died, whereas 1,182 were injured in 1,116 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 510 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 672 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
2 drug pushers held
Ghaziabad police arrested two drug pushers and recovered 3kg charas from their possession. The drug peddlers were identified as Raza and Zeeshan.
