ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Secretary Information Faisal Karim Kundi said on Thursday party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would be the PPP candidate for prime ministership, and the party wished to make Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari the president of Pakistan after the formation of the next government.

He was addressing a press conference along with former MPA Zameen Khan, Malaika, Malik Azmat Khan and PPP Media Coordinator Nazir Dhoki here.

Kundi, coming down hard on the PMLN, said, “Why a party that calls itself the largest party in the country is running away from elections.”

He said that terrorist incidents had begun on a daily basis, but who brought them back and settled those terrorists again in the country. “Who were those who brought them back?” he asked. Faisal Karim Kundi said the PPP strongly condemns terrorism in Dera Ismail Khan. “The PPP always talked about implementation of the National Action Plan in letter and spirit to root out terrorism from the country.”

He said Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto case was being heard and he believed that he would get justice. “Those involved in the martyrdom of Zulfikar Ali should be punished,” he demanded.

The PPP secretary information said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was addressing workers convention across the country and he recently addressed the woman workers convention in Peshawar. He said if Nawaz Sharif would compare his rally in Lahore with the PPP chairman’s rallies anywhere in the country, he would find that people were standing with the PPP.

He criticised former prime minister Imran Khan and said “Ladla” damaged the country.

In a reply to a question, he said it was better to sit in the opposition rather than becoming a Ladla and selected.
