Police claimed on Thursday to have killed two robbers in an encounter in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. According to police, the encounter took place when police personnel on patrolling in the area signalled two suspects pillion riding on a motorcycle to stop.
However, the suspects opened fire on police. In the retaliatory fire, police shot at the suspects, who later succumbed to their injuries. Police added that weapons, mobile phones and a motorcycle was recovered from their possession.
The initial investigation found that the motorcycle was snatched in Bilal Colony. The casualties were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where they were identified as Ramzan and Kalbe Ali. Police said that both the suspects were robbers and hailed from Punjab.
