Personnel of the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) on Thursday claimed busting three notorious gangs and arresting 10 suspects involved in stealing and snatching vehicles.
Officials said 11 motorcycles snatched from different areas of the city had been recovered from the suspects. The AVLC Shah Faisal Division arrested six key suspects and recovered six stolen motorcycles. Two of the suspects, Hamza and Ghulam Shabbir, had been arrested in the past too.
The AVLC Lyari Division arrested two key suspects involved in several incidents of snatching and stealing motorcycles from different areas of Karachi. The suspects are alleged to habitual criminals and have been arrested and jailed in the past as well.
Separately, the AVLC City Division arrested two key suspects and recovered three stolen motorcycles from their possession. The suspects used to sell the stolen motorcycles to two men, Amir and Sharafat, in Raees Goth, Moachko. Raids are being conducted to arrest the accomplices and recover more vehicles.
