Karachi: Presiding over a follow-up meeting on the beautification of Sharea Faisal and the historical Chaukundi Graveyard, Sindh Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar on Wednesday ordered face-lifting of all three buildings of the Falaknaz Apartments located opposite the airport within the next six days.
It was also decided in the meeting to seek help from architects for the development of a beautification plan of Sharea Faisal right from the airport to the Regent Plaza.
The meeting was held at the CM House and attended by Culture Minister Dr Junaid Shah, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Secretary to CM Raheem Shaikh, Culture Secretary Khalid Chachar, Karachi Commissioner Saleem Rajput, Architects Ali Naqvi, Arshad Farouqi, Yawar Jilani, Adil Kerai, Hafiz Habib, Kaleemullah Lashari and others.
The interim CM said the concept of Sharea Faisal’s beautification was aimed at enhancing its visual appeal, improving advertising effectiveness, and creating a cohesive urban environment in the city. He added that the guidelines for the beautification included design standards, dynamic signage, content rotation, lighting efficiency, maintenance, and community engagement.
Justice (retd) Baqar decided that the architects would ensure signage adhered to a unified design language that complemented the urban landscape.
He said that by implementing these guidelines, the signage policy for Sharea Faisal would create an engaging and visually captivating urban environment, enhancing the overall experience for residents and visitors.
