Islamabad : In an unexpected move, Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib, chairman of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), conducted an impromptu visit to a Point of Sale (POS) Agent Shop of the BISP Partner Bank in Pirwadhai, Rawalpindi. The surprise visit aimed to ensure the fair disbursement of ‘Kafaalat’ stipends to deserving women and address challenges faced in the process.
Dr. Saqib actively engaged with needy women at the retailer shop, gaining valuable insights into the ground realities of stipend distribution. Promptly responding to the highlighted challenges, he directed authorities to address and resolve issues swiftly, emphasising the importance of transparent and honest fund distribution.
Addressing the POS Agent, Dr. Saqib underscored the nature of providing stipends to poor women without deductions, urging agents to treat beneficiaries with kindness. He stated, “Serving women in need is like worship,” emphasizing the role of POS agents in upholding transparency and compassion in their community service. The surprise visit reflects Dr. Saqib’s commitment to ensuring the efficient and empathetic disbursement of ‘Kafaalat’ stipends, reinforcing the principles of fairness and compassion in the BISP.
