LAHORE : Around 15 persons were injured after a staff bus fell into Rohi Nullah near Manga Mandi.
The incident was reported near Rakho Rohi Stop, Manga on Raiwind Road when a bus carrying staff to factory slipped into a drain. Reportedly, its driver had lost control. Around 15 persons were injured in the incident.
Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot on information and shifted five of them to Rural Health Centre (RHC) and 10 were provided first aid at the spot.
In another incident reported near Langar Phatak Defence Road, five persons were injured in a collision between a rickshaw and bus.
Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot on information and shifted three victims to Lahore Children’s Hospital and two to Lahore General Hospital.
Woman strangled by husband
A 40-year-old woman was strangled to death by her husband allegedly over a domestic dispute in the Kahna area.
The victim identified as Noreen was found dead from a house in Chowki Hazuri Bagh. Her family alleged that she was strangled. Her body was moved to morgue. The couple had been married four months back. In another incident reported in Main Bazaar Bhatti Gate, the victim identified as Rauf, 40, suddenly fell down and died. His family alleged that the victim was murdered. Body was moved to morgue.
Fugitive arrested
The team of Punjab police Special Operation Cell extradited a fugitive Ijaz Ahmed who escaped to Kuwait after killing a citizen in Aimanabad, Gujranwala, in February this year.
This year, the total number of proclaimed offenders arrested from America, Britain, Europe, Africa, Saudi Arabia and Gulf and Arab countries reached 145.
Two burglars held
Two members of an inter-district burglars gang were arrested by Haloki Chowki Police. They were identified as Raheel and Shafqat.
