Teacher, six students receive burns

JHANG: A teacher and six students received serious burns because of a chemical blast in a school laboratory at Basti Ali Muhammad Araian on Monday.
Teacher Sadia (23) and students Muzamil (10), Mehboob (13), Muhammad Ahmad (12), Ali (12), Sidra (18) and Usman Riaz (14) were present in a laboratory of the private girls elementary school functioning under the Punjab Education Foundation when chemical/acid bottles suddenly exploded. As a result, they received burns. They were shifted to the DHQ hospital.
MONITORING OF EXTREMISTS: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has succeeded in minimising terrorists’ activities, said CTD District Officer Ausaf Safdar Wahla.
Addressing a press conference at the Police Lines here on Monday, he said that persons included in Schedule-IV and extremists were being properly watched. He said that the CTD with the cooperation of police and other law enforcement and sensitive agencies had destroyed the base structure of terrorists and extremists.
