ISLAMABAD: During the hearing of bail applications of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the district and sessions court Tuesday, the judge remarked “Wherever you are, the court appears therein.” The judge acknowledged that this tradition had been set by the individuals involved.
Defence counsel Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry affirmed their appearance in court, emphasising the necessity of the accused’s presence in court for a bail before-arrest plea.
The judge decided to call the report and settle the matter on the next hearing date.Six bail applications, including one for Bushra Bibi, were presented in the district and sessions court. Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra presided over the proceedings. Bushra Bibi appeared in court with her legal team, while Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, the counsel for the former PTI chairman, also represented the defence.
The defence counsel informed the court that an anti-terrorism court had accepted the bail plea of the former PTI chairman. Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra questioned the basis on which the bail plea was accepted. The counsel explained that the former chairman of PTI was not present at the scene.Inquiring about the report and prosecutor, Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra was informed that they were deliberately not presenting the former PTI chairman in court.
Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry requested the court to present the former chairman in court.The judge remarked “Wherever you are, the court appears therein,” and noted that this tradition was established by the individuals involved. The counsel emphasised their regular appearance in court. The court extended the interim bail of the former PTI chairman until December 19 and for Bushra Bibi until January 2. The hearing was adjourned until December 19.
