ECP contempt, jail trial: LHC judge refers Imran’s petition to full bench

LAHORE:Justice Alia Neelam of Lahore High Court has referred the petition of ex-chairman PTI, Imran Khan, against contempt of Election Commission and jail trial to the full bench of Lahore High Court for hearing.

Directed, on the inquiry of the court, the lawyer took a stand that there was a notification of jail trial of the cases related to the disappearance of the cipher, Al-Qadir Trust, on this the court directed to file all the records with the application, the court remarked that a case If I order, what will be the effect on the rest?

Petitioner’s lawyers Ishtyaq Ahmed Khan and Sameer Khosa took the stand that the founding chairman is the former prime minister and the head of the country’s largest political party, the Election Commission is an administrative body, the Election Commission cannot exercise judicial powers, the Election Commission disqualified on political grounds in the Tosha Khana case, now he has given a show to remove him from the party presidency, the Election Commission has written to the Interior Ministry to do the show in jail, this is malicious and illegal.
