NCSW to hold women trade fair today
Islamabad: The National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) will culminate 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign by holding a mega Trade Fair of women entrepreneurs of Pakistan from today (Monday).
The National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) led by chairperson Ms Nilofer Bakhtair in collaboration with UN Women, is set to host a grand event at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad on December 11, 2023, from 10 am to 10 pm, marking the conclusion of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign.
While talking to this correspondent, the Federal Secretary NCSW, Khawaja Imran Raza said that the event has been designed by the Chairperson Nilofer Bhakhtair after her hectic engagements with women chambers of commerce and other stakeholders. The event is based on this year’s theme of: “Unite: Invest to Prevent Violence against Women & Girls,” which advocates to bring in initiatives and policies, programs and projects, that proactively address and prevent violence against women, the Secretary added.
On this occasion the Chairperson Ms Nilofer in her message emphasised that the trade fair serves as a pivotal step toward fostering the economic empowerment of women as it will offer a space for networking, display, and sales to contribute significantly to the economic landscape. Khawaja Imran said that the Trade Fair will not only be a step towards social and financial inclusion of women but will also build partnership among various women groups to further empower them. It will also include cutural and heritage pavilions arranged by Lok Versa courtesy Ministry of Culture, the Secretary concluded.
