LAHORE: Former prime minister and PMLN President Shehbaz Sharif held meetings with former assembly members and party leaders here on Saturday.
He met Prince Iftikharuddin from Chitral and appreciated the services of the late Prince Muhayuddin, father of Prince Iftikharuddin, for the country. Iftikharuddin congratulated Nawaz Sharif on his acquittal in the Avenfield reference.
In another meeting, Hamad Nawaz Tipu, PMLN Rawalpindi Division President Malik Abrar, Vice President Shah Mohammad Shah, Malik Rashid, Malik Ahmed Khan and Malik Ali Ahmed discussed party issues and preparations for elections with Shehbaz. They informed him of ongoing election preparations in their constituencies.
Shehbaz said the PMLN would meet expectations of people as always. After the return of Nawaz Sharif to the homeland, the disappointments of the nation have ended. Under the leadership of Nawaz, the PMLN will bring peace, development and economic prosperity to the nation. Criticizing the PTI, he said their 10-year government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa did not give anything to people and their resources were brutally looted.
Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Attaullah Tarar were present.
Earlier, talking to media, PMLN leader Javed Latif said it was good that the case of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s judicial murder was being heard after 45 years. “But can the injustice that happened at that time be compensated? Should we wait for 45 years to provide justice to Nawaz Sharif?” he questioned and added no relaxation should be given to those behind May 9 incidents.
