KHAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat on Saturday called upon the people to raise voice for their rights or else ‘plunderers’ would be imposed on them through the corrupt political system.
Speaking at the workers’ convention at the hujra of PTI former provincial minister Anwar Zeb Khan in Raghagan near here, he said that the judicial system had been paralysed and whoever talked about the rights of masses was being sent to prison.
“PTI chairman Imran Khan is being punished for raising voice for the rights of people,” he said, adding that the ex-prime minister was a torch-bearer of ‘Haqiqi Azadi’ or real independence.
He said that the opponents authored books, aired interviews on TV channels in a bid to malign the true leader (Imran Khan) but, instead, his popularity further increased among the voters and the youths.
Sher Afzal Marwat lashed out at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo and ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman for their self-centered politics and promoting the prevailing ‘corrupt’ system.
He said that PMLN and JUIF leaders were fleeing from the elections as they saw their defeat at the hands of PTI youth voters.
He praised the PTI workers and local leaders for holding a successful convention despite hurdles created by the district administration for the party.
Ex-minister Anwar Zeb, ex-MNA Gul Zafar and others also spoke on the occasion.
It may be mentioned that the district administration in Bajaur on Friday had sealed the hujra of Anwar Zeb Khan for not getting the no-objection certificate (NOC) for the workers’ convention scheduled to be held at the venue.
An official had said the venue for the convention was sealed as the administration had not issued the NOC for the same.
He had said the environment was not conducive for holding the gathering due to which Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code had been imposed in the district to avert any untoward incident.
He says economic indicators are truly positive today under leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
