Another fire damages six shops in Maymar
Six shops were damaged in a fire that broke out at Sanober Heights in Gulshan-e-Maymar in the early hours of Saturday. The fire brigade spokesperson said that it took three fire engines to control the fire.
The fire damaged cable network, AC maintenance and scrap item shops among others.
The incident caused fear and panic in the area. Residential buildings around the shops were also evacuated. Firefighters said the fire erupted at one shop but quickly spread to others.
Initially, one fire engine reached the site of the incident. They were followed by two more, and the three of them successfully doused the fire in around an hour.
K-Electric also sent a team to disconnect the power supply to the building. No casualties were reported due to the fire, the actual cause of which is yet to be ascertained.
Separately, a container in the fisheries area caught fire. The authorities said the fire erupted in the plastic materials inside the container, but a fire engine promptly took action and doused the fire.
