JI launches election campaign from twin cities

Rawalpindi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) kicked off a two-month-long election campaign in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Friday.

Central JI naib ameer Liaquat Baloch launched the election campaign of the party's candidates for the National Assembly and Punjab Assembly by inaugurating an election office in the Commercial Market of Rawalpindi.

JI candidates from Rawalpindi Imran Shafique advocate, Raza Ahmad Shah, Arshad Farooq, and others were also present on the occasion. Addressing a corner meeting, Liaquat Baloch called upon people to reject all the tested parties and choose honest and sincere candidates of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) while polling their votes on February 08.

Ex-MNA and central JI naib ameer Mian Muhammad Aslam who is also the party's candidate from NA-46 Islamabad, kicked off the campaign by opening an election office in I-10 Markaz of the federal capital.

Speaking on the occasion, Mian Aslam said that along with raising national issues, he would also endeavour to resolve the basic problems of Islamabad's residents. He also vowed to strongly oppose an increase in property tax and water charges in Islamabad.
