LAHORE: Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) President Shehbaz Sharif met senior party leaders here on Thursday.
Those who met him included Rana Tanveer, Shazra Mansab Kharl, Syed Basit Bukhari and Syed Nosheen Iftikhar. Mian Imran Qureshi and Hamid Hameed had a separate meeting with Shehbaz.
During the meetings, the future activities of the party and preparations for the upcoming elections were discussed. The leaders informed the party president regarding the preparations for the elections in their respective constituencies.
Shehbaz appreciated the passion and efforts of party leaders and workers. The leaders also congratulated party leader Nawaz Sharif on his acquittal in the Avenfield reference.
Meanwhile, the former prime minister also met with GB CM Advisor Shabir Ahmad Usmani. The meeting took place at Shehbaz Model Town residence.
Usmani briefed Shehbaz on the recent killing of tourists in Gilgit-Baltistan. “I regret the killing of tourists in Gilgit-Baltistan,” Shehbaz said, adding that it was sad.
Usmani said that practical steps were being taken to prevent such happenings in future.
