Bid to kidnap student foiled

PESHAWAR: The Excise Department officials on Thursday foiled a bid to kidnap a young student by people dressed in police uniform.
It was learnt that the kidnappers in police uniforms kidnapped a 10-grade student, Muhammad Ahmad, of Hangu from Ring Road when he was on his way to school in a rickshaw along with two sisters.
In the meantime, the Excise Department officials signaled the car of the kidnappers on suspicion and started chasing them when they did not stop. The police were also informed that they intercepted the car after an exchange of fire.
