ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Information Secretary Faisal Karim Kundi has said those who are afraid of people’s decision do not want elections.
“In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there is a Maulana Fazlur Rehman government and we don’t know what kind of favourable environment they want,” he said while commenting on JUIF Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Kundi said the opponents were worried about the PPP victory and popularity of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. So sometimes they cry about the economy, sometimes about the cold and are now crying about the law and order situation. The PPP had opposed postponing elections despite the martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto.
“In the 2013 and 2018 elections, the PPP had fought against terrorists and their supporters and in 2008, 2013 and 2018, it ran the election campaign in the shadows of terrorism,” he said, adding that the country was facing serious problems and elections were the only way out. The nation is confident that the SC chief justice will ensure the process of general elections.
