LAHORE:A two-member bench of Lahore High Court (LHC), headed by Justice Shehbaz Rizvi, Wednesday acquitted accused Mazhar of death penalty.
The counsel of the accused argued there were clear contradictions in the medical report and the statements of the eyewitnesses.
The accused was named in the case without justification due to family enmity, he told the court.
No bullet casings were recovered from the spot, he said.A case has been registered against the accused for murder of one Jagdah in Langrana police station of Khushab. The Sessions Court had awarded death sentence to Mazhar.
