Terrorists have struck once again, this time in the Chilas area of Gilgit-Baltistan, killing nine people. While it is important to probe the reasons and motivations behind the attack, this attack goes down as yet another security failure. GB is a tourism hub and this attack will have an adverse impact on the economic revival of the region.
There is a need to ensure that tragic incidents like this do not take place again and that the security of those visiting and living in GB is guaranteed. The present security arrangements need to be reviewed and strengthened.
