IG orders speedy evacuation of illegal foreigners

LAHORE:The process of evacuation of illegal foreign nationals should be completed as soon as possible in collaboration with other government institutions.

IG Punjab stated this while presiding over an important meeting at the Central Police Office on Tuesday.

All RPOs, CPOs, DPOs, CTOs, Traffic Officers participated in the meeting through video link. During the meeting, IG reviewed the performance of various districts in the fields of police services this year and the citizen feedback mechanism.

He said that various services have been provided to more than 20 million citizens in police service centres and rate of issuance of driving license has been increased to one thousand percent across the Punjab.

He directed all regional and district officers to monitor the redressal of complaints received on 1787. He said that more than 15,000 promotions have been given this year, and the target of 20,000 promotions will be completed by February next year.

Rs1.8m released for cops’ treatment

IG Punjab released funds amounting to Rs1.8 million for medical treatment of six officials. The injured Constable Tariq Aziz of Lahore police and Sajjad Hussain of DG Khan were given Rs5 lakh each. Constable Rashid Aziz of Bahawalpur was given Rs5 lakh for cancer treatment while Head Constable of Lahore M Ikram was given Rs150,000 for treating the skin of his wife and children. PHP Multan Head Constable Ghulam Abbas was given Rs1 lakh for plastic surgery while ASI from Multan M Irfan Ahmed was given Rs1 lakh for treatment of mental illness.

Transgender team meets IGP

A delegation of transgender community met the IG Punjab here Tuesday. During the meeting, the problems of the transgender community and the steps taken by the Punjab Police were discussed. The transgender delegation commended the ongoing steps taken by the Punjab Police to facilitate the members of the transgender community.
