SUKKUR: Sukkur IBA University marked the joyous occasion of “Sindh Culture Day” in a spirited celebration showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The festivities commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the resonating notes of the National Anthem, setting the stage for a cultural extravaganza.
Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, the Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University, took the podium in front of an auditorium filled with students adorned in traditional Sindhi attire, including the iconic Ajrak and Topi.
During his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh expressed admiration for the inclusive spirit of the people of Sindh, emphasizing the importance of cultural harmony. He urged the local community to extend the same warmth and acceptance to individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering unity and a sense of oneness among the nation.
Mr. Prakash, President of the Sukkur IBA Students Council (SISC), echoed the sentiments of preserving Sindhi culture and encouraged fellow students to reconnect with their roots.
The event unfolded with captivating performances by students, featuring Sindhi folk songs and insightful speeches.
The culmination of the celebration saw Mr. Qazi Abdul Wahid, Director of the Career Development Center (CDC), presenting a traditional souvenir to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh. In a reciprocal gesture, the Vice Chancellor bestowed souvenirs upon the PTV team covering the event, as well as the President and Vice President of SISC.
