PHC reserves verdict on Swat mayor’s petition
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday reserved its judgement on the writ petition filed by Swat Mayor Shahid Ali seeking the details of the cases registered against him.
A two-member PHC bench consisting of Justice SM Atiq Shah and Justice Faheem Wali heard the writ petition.Swat Mayor Shahid Ali had filed the petition seeking the details of the cases registered against him.
Mohammad Inam Yousafzai Advocate appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner. The bench heard the arguments and reserved its verdict.
Inam Yousafzai, the counsel for the petitioner, told the court that his client Shahid Ali got elected as the mayor of Swat city on the ticket of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf .He said Shahid Ali was arrested when protests were staged across the country against the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan on May 9.
The counsel said his client was on bail, but he was facing harassment.He requested the court to direct the relevant officials not to harass his client and provide him the details of the cases against him.
