CM opens CBD Punjab project

LAHORE : Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab), Quaid District here on Saturday.

CBD officials said the development was completed in accordance with its commitment to investors. The inauguration ceremony was attended by ministers and cabinet members of Punjab, CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin, COO CBD Punjab Brig (retd) Mansoor Janjua, Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Directorate Heads of CBD Punjab, senior officials of local government and CBD Punjab.

Completed with the estimated cost of Rs332 million as per the approved PC1, this milestone underscores a significant achievement for the development of Punjab. The comprehensive infrastructure encompasses road networks, sewage and drainage systems, electricity, water and gas supply, street lighting, ICT integration, robust security measures, and visually appealing landscaping, all constructed to the highest standards.

While addressing the inaugural ceremony Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi said, “The fulfillment of CBD Punjab promise to investors marks a momentous milestone in Punjab's development journey. I congratulate the administration of CBD Punjab for their dedication and successful completion of the Lahore Prime CBD Punjab Quaid District infrastructure." Further talking about establishing CBD's other than Lahore Chief Minister Punjab, emphasised to start work on CBD Rawalpindi.

Chief Minister Punjab also visited other projects of CBD Punjab. CEO CBD Punjab, Imran Amin gave detailed briefing about the projects.

While expressing his views, CEO CBD Punjab, Imran Amin, stated, "Lahore Prime sets the stage for Punjab's growth and progress. Engaging our investors is pivotal in transforming this area into a nexus of innovation and advancement.”

The completion of Lahore Prime's infrastructure signifies not just construction but the laying of the groundwork for a prosperous and vibrant Punjab. CBD Punjab vision is to adorn Lahore Prime with skyscrapers and architectural marvels, elevating the skyline and creating an environment that reflects modernity and advancement.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the President of UAE Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, its Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi and its people on the National Day of United Arab Emirates.

UAE is the second home of Pakistani people and the hearts of both the countries beat together.

CM maintained that Pakistan and UAE cordial relations have further strengthened due to the recent visit adding that agreements worth billions of dollars were inked during the recent visit.

UAE has always extended its full support to Pakistan in every time of trial and need. We deeply appreciate the economic and diplomatic support extended by UAE with regard to Pakistan. UAE is an important country of the Muslim world and its rapid progress is an example for the world. I solemnly pray for further progress and stability of United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi paid a detailed visit to the Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi early morning and assigned a deadline to complete the upgradation project by January 31, 2024.

CM Mohsin Naqvi reviewed progress being made on the hospital upgradation work for two hours. CM expressed his indignation over seeing the quality of tiles being fixed on the floor and ordered to fix same quality of tiles.

CM directed to ensure the quality in the upgradation work at any cost. Mohsin Naqvi asserted that no compromise will be made on the quality work. CM inspected ongoing construction activities in the old building, OPD and various wards. Mohsin Naqvi went to the basement, ground floor, first floor and directed to speed up construction activities.

CM underlined that we would complete the project before the stipulated timeframe adding that work on the upgradation is ongoing for 24 hours. We are completing the work in the old and new block of the hospital before the stipulated time. 33 percent work of the old block has been completed and 26 percent work was to be completed till 1st December.

The access roads up to the Holy Family Hospital are also being widened. Day and night hard work is being done for the improvement of Health Department in Punjab. Upgradation work of more than 100 hospitals is ongoing which will soon be completed. It is our utmost strive to improve the condition of hospitals before the expiry of our tenure.

CM Mohsin Naqvi presided over a meeting to review upgradation work of the hospital. CM was given a briefing about progress being made on the upgradation work. Mohsin Naqvi issued directions to the concerned officials for early completion of the upgradation work.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi attended a ceremony being held in connection with the International Day of Enabled Persons at a local hotel on Saturday.

CM formally inaugurated the web portal “Enabled” by the Social Welfare Department. CM Mohsin Naqvi expressed his affection with the enabled children. CM called the female child on the stage who sent messages on the whatsapp to participate in the ceremony and expressed affection with the female child.

The enabled female child gave an invitation card to CM Mohsin Naqvi to visit the institution. CM after accepting the invitation said that he would definitely visit the institution.

Mohsin Naqvi apprised that this female child invited him by sending a message on the mobile by saying that he has to definitely participate in the ceremony. After seeing the message, I decided to attend the ceremony after cancelling all my engagements. It is matter of great pride for me to participate in the ceremony of enabled children and it is my duty as well.

Mohsin Naqvi revealed that in the past, the budget of special education institutions was allocated to the School Education Department, on account of which the budget used to be allocated with delay for the education, brought up of the children and studying in these institutions.

Provincial Minister SHC&ME Dr Javed Akram and DG Social Welfare also addressed the ceremony. Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary Social Welfare, Secretary Information, DG Social Welfare, prominent motivational speaker Qasim Ali Shah and a large number of enabled children participated in the ceremony.
